Previous Home Learning
Welcome back! The children have all settled back into the new term well and with their new teacher!
Our topic during Spring 1 is ‘Bears’. We will be linking a lot of our work to stories about bears such as ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’, ‘Polar bear, Polar bear’, ‘Whatever Next!’ and ‘Goldilocks and the 3 bears’. We will be retelling and acting out stories, writing lists, drawing story maps and recalling the beginning, middle and end of a story.
In Maths, we have been recognising numbers to 10, ordering numbers and counting objects reliably. We are moving onto measures with length, weight and capacity.
In Art and Design, we have been making rockets linked to the story ‘Whatever Next!’ and we have made bear puppets and masks.
In Physical development, we have been making dens and caves for bears inside in construction and outside using the large apparatus, and natural materials.
Our PE day in the hall is on Monday.
In Life Skills, we are looking at ‘Going for goals’ and have had some good discussions about what we can do now that we couldn’t do when we were small and also what we want to get better at.
We are all looking forward for a busy but exciting half term!
Foundation stage class of 2019-2020 has really started fantastically!
The children all settled well on their first day, enjoying getting to know each other, their teachers and their setting.
The weather has been warm and sunny so the children have been able to spill outside and enjoy outdoor learning. One child was overheard saying “I love my school! “
We are greatly looking forward to enjoying learning together in the weeks to come.
