Dahl class (Y3/4)
This term Class 4 have really enjoyed the topic “To Infinity and Beyond” inspired, particularly, by the visit from the Wonderdome when they experienced a virtual reality journey through space!
Whilst some children were singing at Young Voices other pupils underwent some serious astronaut training! This involved a lot of physical activities, those which tested their reaction skills.
In English lessons, Class 4 have been writing non-chronological reports about Space and are now starting to write and perform play scripts. The children also created amusing adverbial sentences which they have included in their pen-pals to their Seattle pen-pals.
In art this term, Class 4 have been studying Van Gogh’s “Starry Night”. After looking at how Van Gogh used the swirls to create movement in their own work which they depicted as planets.
In design and technology, the children have been designing their own moon buggies .They began thinking about their success criteria, then they made a proto type moon buggy using different construction kits. They’re looking forward to creating their finished moon buggies on the 28th February.
